“Ray of Hope…” was initiated as a Social Service organization at Hyderabad by 8 close friends from Engineering on November 21st 2005. We comprise of students of the IITs & the IIMs, and also corporate employees working for various MNCs in India and the USA. From a short-term campaign to fund for 300 children at Shishu Vihar, Hyderabad, as of March 2009, we’ve grown into a 630 strong family not limited to its members; but also includes the most important members who are the 2500 challenged people we have supported so far. We have spread across 10 major cities in India and 4 the USA.
Our aim is to integrate forces such as NGOs, the Govt., the Corporate world, and the local as well as the global community, with the aim to reach out to the poorest of the poor; those who’ve never been cared for before; and raise them to a self sustainable level.
Dear Friends, we are all very lucky to have families and friends who love us. Our lives are filled with love. But there are so many others who aren’t this fortunate. Why not spread our love to them? Why not extend our family beyond our blood relations and daily social contact?
Quoting the great Mother Teresa,
“Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat...We must find each other.”
We invite anyone and everyone, to join us, a registered NGO (Registration #221/2007) as of December 12th 2007 under the Andhra Pradesh Societies Registration Act 2001.
